The Dance of the Cosmos by Brian Moore

This visualization shows the incredible patterns created by the relative orbital positions of different pairs of planets in our solar system. Each section represents a different pairing and the pattern is created by drawing a straight line between the orbital positions of each planet at different intervals over a period of time. For example, the first pattern is created by drawing a straight line between Earth and Venus every 2.9 days for a period of 8 years. Users can also watch these patterns emerge by using the Play Controls, though for a better viewing experience, it's recommended that you download the workbook and increase the speed (this option is not available on Tableau Public). The attached gif shows the pattern emerging for Earth and Venus over that 8 year period.
