The worst coral bleaching event in recorded history currently threatens reefs across the globe and scientists warn the situation may not improve anytime soon.The threat to corals around the world has occurred over a relatively short time span, but corals do not die with one quick blow. The process, which can be initiated by a variety of triggers, often takes weeks or months. Now, scientists are racing to develop a solution to save coral reefs, but time is running out.
