BROMACKER – Ursaurier Science by Museum für Naturkunde Berlin

BROMACKER project combines paleo research and science communication at the excavation site in the UNESCO Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen, at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, at the Stiftung Schloss Friedenstein Gotha and Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena. The digital twin of the project – the online exhibition – is growing along with the scientific results and is made with the scans of the scenes within the project, which mirrors the digitalizing processes within BROMACKER research. The content is made by the team for lay people – to open up the paleoscience und explain playfully, what are these complex processes behind the scenes and who the people doing these jobs are. In the team there are professors, PostDocs, Docs, but also Bachelor & Master students, who are growing along in their communication skills and professional pathways, doing science communication by themselves, At this stage, the first Island of the exhibition is online, but there are 20 planed, as welll as guided web tours and free interactive exploration of the islands! I am Anastasia, Digital Curator at the museum, the POstDocs, Docs and other students are studying at Humboldt University/UniJena and for the implementation of my concept I teamed up with creative coding young professional Timo Hausmann.
