Ancient Towers in China by 南京艺术学院
Pagodas were introduced to China with Buddhism in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. They have changed significantly in form, structure, material, layout, and function over a long period.
Unfortunately, few ancient pagodas have survived to date and are well known to the public. To uncover the stories behind those towers, we bring this work by visualizing more than 1,000 pagodas currently existing in China, enabling users to explore them in creative ways.
