War Filings by Politecnico di Milano

"War Filings" shows the density of explosions on the Syrian territory from 2015 to 2017. The data, gathered in the Global Terrorism Database, are represented through the metaphor of ferromagnetic force, which attracts the iron powder near the most struck locations. Due to the presence of different magnets under the cities, the iron filings come together, forming thorny agglomerations similar to the dust generated by the explosions.
