Since 1976, the Ebola virus has killed nearly 15,000 people. Though most out the epidemic covers large swathes of Sub-Saharan Africa, it has plagued countries the Democratic Republic of Congo and its neighbours. Due to the geography of the region, it’s exceptionally hard to access which doesn’t allow healthcare workers to prevent the spread of the virus.
