Our submission visualizes a recent estimate by the Population Reference Bureau of the staggering number of people who have ever been born. Even though ‘modern’ humans have been around for at least 50,000 years and the dead now outnumber the living by more than 13:1, nearly 7% of people ever born were still alive in 2017.
