Hot and humid Olympic summer by Reuters

In the runup to the summer games, Reuters showed how Tokyo brings a double whammy of heat and humidity to the olympic athletes, posing a high risk of heat illness.

Olympic athletes were to compete in July and August, typically the hottest and some of the most humid months in the Japanese capital. In the past 10 years, temperatures have hit as high as 39 degrees Celsius (102 degrees Fahrenheit) during the period covering this year’s Games.
