Best of the Web: July 2019
It's an exciting time of year - every day a brilliant new data-led visualization makes its way across our feeds, and we can't wait to see some of these magnificent works on stage at the 8th annual Information is Beautiful Awards. We've been sharing a lot of inspiration from the rich IIB Awards archive lately - read on to see which shares got the most applause on our social channels.
August brings the final countdown to enter the 2019 Information is Beautiful Awards. Don't delay - the deadline is 30 August, 11:59 pm PST.
In 2015 Dear Data rocked the #IIBAwards. @giorgialupi and @stefpos won Most Beautiful with their hand drawn series of data-focused postcards, starting a revolution in how people creatively approach their #dataviz practice (sharpen those pencils!). We can't wait to see the innovation and beauty in store for the 2019 Awards.

Last week saw a new storm event and increased flooding in Louisiana- the gulf coast is hugely vulnerable to #climatechange. We need to keep talking about #climate and #resilience. https://t.co/a10FkUPDWg #IIBAwards @BBVAData pic.twitter.com/lTCnED7j2Q— Kantar IIB Awards (@infobeautyaward) July 20, 2019
Pleased to see this pop up again on our timeline- @CityLab covered 2018's Most Beautiful #dataviz, a dendrochronology showing #immigration to the US as a "natural & organic" process. Congrats again to @pmcruz, @wihbey, @felipeshibuya & Avni Ghael. https://t.co/gG0JmDlMBl @Tanvim pic.twitter.com/q8EffJf17D— Kantar IIB Awards (@infobeautyaward) July 8, 2019
