Tuskegee Airmen - Climbing Above Adversity by Ethan Lang

During WWII there was an elite fighter squadron called the Tuskegee Airmen from the United States Air force. This squadron was know for their prowess in dogfights, high number of bombers safely escorted on missions, and their iconic red tails painted on their fighters. The Tuskegee Airmen were legends in their day but also faced just as much adversity on the ground then in the air. This is because during WWII the United States military was still segregated. This squadron was the first airborne squadron for people of color. They faced many challenges but their legendary perform helped lead to desegregation in the military after the war. This data visualization is a tribute to their successes.
