Nobel Laureates by Nicola Rennie

The Nobel Prizes are awarded to laureates who, "during the preceding year, have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind" in accordance with Alfred Nobel's will of 1895. The five original prizes (Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature, and Peace) were first awarded in 1901, with the Economic Sciences category added later in 1969. As of 2022, there are only 60 women who have been awarded a Nobel Prize out of more than 900 recipients. This visualisation highlights those women.

Recipients names (excluding those awarded to organisations) are written in semi-circles with each semi-circle representing a different category of award. The names are arranged chronologically in an anti-clockwise direction, with female laureates highlighted in a darker colour.
