Our True Face: Latina Women are Exoticized &Unfairly Portrayed in the Media by University of Cincinnati

This project was significantly personal to me. Once I move to the US, I noticed first hand the "box" in which immigrants are put on, specifically Latinas. I am originally from Bolivia and I move to the US on 2016 to pursue my higher education. It has been a journey to re discover my identity as a Latina in this country and the perceptions around it. I used articles and academic studies to collect data, confirm my biases and learn more in depth about the Latina woman image. I started with pencil sketches and later I continue different layouts and illustration styles. I wanted to hand paint my illustrations and bring them into photoshop to be placed on my infographic.
