Investable World Data Explorer by Schema Design

For investors, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) criteria often lacks clarity — many funds use ESG language for promotional purposes but ultimately can’t articulate what that means for investors. Morningstar Inc. wanted to create an interactive visualization that brings transparency to ESG specific metrics. This visualization would be a key part of Morningstar’s Investable World brand campaign, and ultimately became a media installation for the 2022 Morningstar Investment Conference in Chicago. Schema was brought in to design the data visualization, while Substance Collective provided art direction for this product as well as the brand strategy, concept development and the visualization for the Investable World program. This project explored a broad collection of topics surrounding ESG investing, and offers investors a unique look at ESG metrics and data.
