Dying to be Pregnant - Fighting for a Mother's Right to Live by Nicole Klassen

Maternal mortality rates world wide have been dropping, but in the United States they've been rising. After the Supreme Court ruling on Dobbs v Jackson, many states are denying access to abortions which will cause this rate to continue to rise. Not only will pregnant people continue to die, but now their miscarriages can be investigated as well, making these grieving mother's pain worse. As I was looking into maternal mortality rates, I realized that many causes of death, such as murder and suicide, were not included in the official maternal mortality rates, so I wanted to shine a light on their stories as well. We have to keep fighting for a mother's right to live.
