Captain Planet and Women-Led Businesses by Nicole Klassen

Gender equity and advocating for women in leadership roles goes beyond checking a diversity box. Women are disproportionately effected by climate change and tend to have the long-term leadership thinking needed to tackle climate change. By women holding leadership roles in businesses, company leadership can start to have more strategic discussions on how to help stop harmful effects on the environment. While researching the connection between climate change, the effects on women, and lack of women in leadership roles, I found out that Captain Planet was co-created by Barbara Pyle, who continued her environmental activism long after the show stopped airing. I wanted to dedicate this viz to her and the other women who are fighting to stop climate change.
