Total goals scored by Pelé, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by Marcelo Pliger

Pele is the most important Brazilian football player in history. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pelé's 1000th goal, we compare the goals scored by him, Leonel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo each year. Pelé's goal volume is higher. He scored a lot more goals early in his career than the other two. Furthermore, he has won three World Cups, at 18, 22 and 30 years old, while Messi and Ronaldo have not won any. Pelé's total number of goals for the Brazilian team is almost double. Keeping the goal average of the last five years, Messi and Cristiano need to play almost 6 years to reach a thousand goals and about 11 years to equal Pele in the total sum of goals in their career.
