The Beautiful Hidden Logic Of Cities by Erin Davis

Navigating around town, you're probably aware of road designations: Avenues and Boulevards and Streets and Roads and so on. However, it's hard to get an overall view of the patterns they form as they knit together to make a city. In this visualization, I’ve colored the streets of several major cities by road designation. In doing this, we can suddenly see new, stunning views of what we normally take for granted.
