Female Students At Bauhaus 1919-1933 by Lan Shi

Bauhaus is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2019. This work intends to shed some light on the female students as their contribution to Bauhaus and their story are barely recognised today.

The infographic does not only visualise the declining share of female enrolments from 1919 to 1933 but also incorporate quotations from both teachers and students. It shows how Walter Gropius´ vision of gender equality fails in the real world, and how the students deal with the prejudices at the time.
