A Day in the Life of The Tube by Robert Radburn

The “A Day in the Life of the Tube” viz summarises the 5 million daily journeys on the underground using the 2015 Rolling O&D survey, and splitting the data into two-hourly periods. The viz uses spatial cartograms (and Tableau) to make sense of the patterns in the data. Each square in the viz is one of 268 London Underground tube stations arranged roughly into their geographical location. Each square is then coloured by whether the station had more commuters arrive or exit.
