About the Awards

The Kantar Information is Beautiful Awards celebrate excellence and beauty in data visualizations, infographics, interactives &  information art. Our 2016 winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the end of the year.

In 2017, To reflect the fact that data visualization is now such a ubiquitous and versatile artform, we've retooled the categories by subject area. So whether your piece is an interactive or an infographic, our judges will be testing how well the piece illuminates the topic: Arts, Environments, Current Affairs, Corporate, Humanitarian, Science, Sports, Unusual.

How it’s possible

The Awards were set up in 2012 by David McCandless, journalist and datavisualizer of Information is Beautiful, in collaboration with Aziz Cami, the then Creative Director at Kantar, now succeeded by the current Creative Director, Emma Whitehead.

The Awards are judged not only by a panel of experts but also via a public vote so members of the public help decide who wins. It's open to creators from across the spectrum - rising stars, students, individual practitioners, established studios, media brands, NGOs and more. The party, food and drink is free - thanks to our beloved sponsor Kantar. If you’re shortlisted, you'll get a pair of invites to the ceremony in London; winners get cash prizes plus that all-important trophy.
